1st batch of Master of Technology program in Composites commenced on October 4, 2024.
The inaugural session of the M.Tech in Composites program at Ahmedabad University was convened on 4th October 2024, marking the initiation of an advanced academic pathway focused on equipping professionals with expertise in the composites industry.
The inauguration event was graced by key dignitaries including Vice Chancellor Professor Pankaj Chandra, Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science Professor Sunil Kale, Mr. Punit Lalbhai, Vice Chairman and Executive Director, Arvind Limited, and Mr. Pragnesh Shah, Director of ATIRA.
Mr. Punit Lalbhai, Vice Chairman of Arvind Limited, provided valuable insights into the industrial applications of composites, particularly in sectors such as defense, aerospace, and mass transportation. He stressed the growing relevance of sustainable material solutions and innovation-driven research in these sectors. Mr. Pragnesh Shah, Director, ATIRA, spoke about the symbiotic relationship between academic institutions and research organizations in fostering innovation in composites technology. He elaborated on ATIRA’s role in the program, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in areas of design, development, and manufacturing within the composites sector. Mr. Shah also discussed that ATIRA’s extensive expertise and infrastructure will provide comprehensive support to the program, particularly in design and material innovation, critical for the sector’s growth.
The programme will be taught by the experienced faculty of Ahmedabad University along with the industry experts and scientists from R&D organizations.
