Celebrating ATIRA’s Foundation Day with Purpose and Impact

ATIRA marked its Foundation Day with a renewed commitment to research excellence, societal responsibility, and inclusive progress.

Established on 13 December 1947 through the visionary efforts of eminent industry leaders such as Shri Kasturbhai Lalbhai and Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, the Ahmedabad Textile Industry’s Research Association (ATIRA) was founded to embed scientific thinking, innovation, and research-driven development within India’s textile sector.
Over the past 78 years, ATIRA has evolved into a nationally and internationally respected institution, consistently contributing to advancements in research, sustainability, industrial competitiveness, and societal development. Guided by this enduring legacy of service, ATIRA commemorated this year’s Foundation Day by organizing a Blood Donation Drive as a meaningful gesture of social responsibility.

The blood donation drive was organized in partnership with Prathama Blood Centre, Ahmedabad, reinforcing ATIRA’s commitment to collaborative efforts that create tangible community impact.

At ATIRA, research and innovation extend beyond industrial transformation—they serve as powerful enablers of positive social change. We express our sincere appreciation to all team members who participated with enthusiasm and dedication. Their voluntary contribution reflects the true spirit and values on which ATIRA was founded.
As we commemorate this milestone, ATIRA looks forward to another year of innovation, inclusion, and impactful contributions to industry and society alike.
ATIRA launches Pultrusion Operator Skill Development Program
ATIRA inaugurated its Pultrusion Operator Skill Development Program on 9th December, under the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM – TG-2), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. This initiative addresses a critical and long-standing skill gap in India’s rapidly growing composites industry. The program places strong emphasis on hands-on shop-floor training, process knowledge, safety practices, and workforce readiness—key capabilities required for the next generation of pultrusion manufacturing professionals.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries and industry leaders, including:
• 𝑆ℎ𝑟𝑖 𝐷ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑟𝑎 𝐽𝑎𝑑𝑒𝑗𝑎, 𝐽𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑡 𝐼𝑛𝑑𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑖𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑒𝑟, 𝐺𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑛𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝐺𝑢𝑗𝑎𝑟𝑎𝑡
