Job Brief : Lead the operations of the textile and technical textile testing laboratory at ATIRA, a premiertextile research institute established in 1947. ATIRA is internationally renowned and approved by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The Testing Labs are accredited by NABL in accordance with the standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017. The lab specializes in testing Cotton, Yarns, Fabrics, Geotextiles, Protective textiles, and other technical textiles.

The Head will ensure the delivery of accurate, reliable, and high-quality testing services while maintaining compliance with national and international standards. The role involves overseeing the testing lab operations, development of methods for new materials and contributing to standards development as a representative of ATIRA with BIS.

 

Qualifications: 

• B.Tech / M.Tech in Textile Technology/ Engineering, Master’s or Ph.D. in Textile Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field

• Certification in Quality Management Systems(ISO/IEC 17025) & NABL is preferred.

 

Experience:

• Minimum 10-12 years of experience in textile laboratory testing, with at least 5 yearsin a
such type of leadership role.
• Proven expertise in managing a testing lab and implementing quality control systems.

 

Competence/skills required:

• Familiarity with compliance and safety regulationsin laboratory environments.
• Ability to develop and validate testing methods for new and innovative materials.
• Ability to implement Gage R&R and ensure System reliability through AMC, Calibration,
Checks validation etc.
